Illinois Independent Consumers
and Farmers Association
We are a coalition of Independent Consumer and Farmer groups united in a common mission and purpose:
•To promote and preserve unregulated direct farmer-to-consumer trade
that fosters availability of locally grown or home-produced food products.
•To oppose any government funded or managed National Animal Identification System.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IICFA was formed in early 2008 to work with the National Forum currently working to STOP NAIS and Premises ID in any form from becoming implemented in The United States of America. Why was IICFA formed? On October 31st, 2007 the Illinois Department of Agriculture Directure Chuck Hartke put forth the word that all 4H, FFA and State Fair Livestock Exhibitors must obtain and utilize a Premise ID to show. Realizing that this was a backdoor attempt to increase the registered Premises in the State of Illinois, Michael and Sharon Sabo decided to get involved. Having pulled out of 4H due to the realization that their Nubian Goats would fall under the plan, they then were approached by several lifelong members of 4H to assist in the fight against NAIS/Premise ID in Illinois. Through dedication and many hours of study, we (Michael and Sharon Sabo) were able to begin a Grassroots movement in Illinois. Since Feb. 10th, 2008 they have been assisted by many groups not only in Illinois, but across the Nation in achieving the following: HB 5776 has been introduced in the Illinois House and passed 10-0 through the Ag. Committee. HB 5776 passed to the Illinois Senate with a vote of 108 - 0It is now awaiting review by the Rules Committee. It continues to gain support among the Legislators.
